Plunge into the jungle to visit the 7 caldron Pools of Bukit Daun, with colors ranging from sky blue to milky white to red. It is said in the white pool, there is a spirit called Kawah Putri who lives there and will show her power when someone calls out her name. Some have even reported seeing the phantom….

Day 1 – Through Coffee Fields to the cusp of the Jungle

On the first day, warm up your muscles and break in your boots with a leisurely 3-hour hike to the base camp. Pass through coffee and tobacco fields, taking your time to stop and smell the coffee blooms or other wild flowers along the trail. Set up camp on the edge of untamed territory, at the last pondok (wooden farm shack) before entering the jungle.

Day 2 – Seven Pools and 1 Princess

Once you’ve had a fulfilling breakfast, it’s time to explore the main waterfall, called Curug Air Terjun. While not more than 500m from your campsite, this waterfall lies at the base of a steep ravine, requiring a safety rope to assist in some spots. Your heart will race as you experience the adventure of the Sumatran jungle, including the exhilaration when you view the awe-inspiring waterfall at the base of the ravine. Two separate waterfalls are here, one hot and one cold, falling next to one another and mixing at the bottom to form a delightfully warm pool. Rest here for lunch, taking in the amazing views afforded by the Curug Embun waterfalls. Spend some time bathing in the warm pools and exploring your surroundings, including a cave close to the waterfalls.

After soaking up the warm waters and beauty around you, begin the ascent to our campground and then back up to the trailhead. Rinse off in the local bathing area and then return to Curup to prepare for your next adventure in with us.

Day 3 – Hike Out (with an Optional Pitstop)

You awaken from sweet dreams of a mystical princess and are ready for the day. Break camp after breakfast and head back towards civilization (unfortunately). Take your time through the coffee & tobacco fields again. On the d

rive back to town, stop at a local waterfall called Air Dingin for a quick dip to wash off your cares before heading back to grind of everyday life, taking pictures and creating memories to last you until your next Wild Sumatra trip.
